Join Upper Canada Village as a Historical Interpreter and delve into the world of 1860s Ontario. Influence and educate visitors through hands-on historical activities in a role that offers up to 36.25 hours weekly.
This seasonal student role, available between May and September 2026, invites individuals with a passion for history. You'll communicate with diverse audiences, learning to recreate aspects of historical trades, domestic tasks, and cultural practices. Safety awareness is crucial, with an emphasis on maintaining a secure environment for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent the rich history of Upper Canada Village
• Conduct engaging interpretations of 1860s activities
• Prioritize safety by reporting any hazards
• Uphold principles of equity and diversity in all engagements
Requirements:
• Strong communication and interpretative abilities
• Knowledge of mid-19th century Ontario
• Ability to perform physical interpretative duties
• Willingness to wear historical attire
• Completion of a vulnerable service sector check
