Step into the past at Upper Canada Village as a Historical Interpreter, engaging guests with mid-19th century Ontario life. Ideal for history enthusiasts ready to bring the 1860s to life through interactive demonstrations.
This seasonal student role runs from May to September 2026, offering up to 36.25 hours per week. You will communicate effectively with diverse audiences while showcasing historical trades, farming practices, and period music. Your dedication will ensure captivating experiences for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent Ontario's tourism heritage in an engaging manner
• Interpret daily life of the 1860s through activities
• Report hazards to ensure safety for all visitors
• Embrace equity and inclusion in your interactions
Requirements:
• Strong communication skills for varied audiences
• Knowledge of mid-19th century Ontario history
• Physically capable of performing interpretive activities
• Willingness to wear a historical costume
• Complete a vulnerable sector check
