We are currently accepting applications for Student Monitor
. Under the direction of the Principal, the Student Monitor will provide general supervision and monitoring of students.
This position is covered under the UCDSB/CUPE collective agreement.
Qualifications and Experience- Must possess a secondary school diploma.
- At least 6 months of experience working with children/students in a supervisory/monitor capacity.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to student needs.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in interactions within the school community.
- Ability to follow school policies and procedures.
- Provide general supervision and monitoring of students during lunch/nutrition breaks, yard duty and in the halls.
- Supervise students within the school setting, field trips and on the school yard, as assigned by the Principal.
- Convey information to students regarding acceptable behavior as per school procedures.
- Demonstrate good attendance and work in a healthy and safe manner.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Physical: Work requires light manual effort typical of a normal school environment. Short periods of standing while supervising.

UCDSB requires your current and two most recent direct supervisors. If your experience was in a day-to-day occasional capacity, list the length of time you worked for that supervisor and whether the assignment was casual or long-term. The UCDSB does not accept colleagues or personal references.
