Position: Student Monitor – Permanent – 0.14 FTE
Location: Long Sault

Upper Canada District School Board

We are currently accepting applications for Student Monitor
. Under the direction of the Principal, the Student Monitor will provide general supervision and monitoring of students.

This position is covered under the UCDSB/CUPE collective agreement.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Must possess a secondary school diploma.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with children/students in a supervisory/monitor capacity.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Skills Required
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to student needs.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in interactions within the school community.
  • Ability to follow school policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide general supervision and monitoring of students during lunch/nutrition breaks, yard duty and in the halls.
  • Supervise students within the school setting, field trips and on the school yard, as assigned by the Principal.
  • Convey information to students regarding acceptable behavior as per school procedures.
  • Demonstrate good attendance and work in a healthy and safe manner.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Effort Required (Physical & Mental)

Physical: Work requires light manual effort typical of a normal school environment. Short periods of standing while supervising.
