Position: Fleet/Infra Planner 6Month contract
Could you be the full-time  Fleet/Infra Planner  in Toronto, ON we’re looking for? (6-Month contract).

Your Future Role
The LRV & Infrastructure Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) maintenance activities and supporting infrastructure work using GSI (SAP). This role ensures optimal fleet availability, efficient use of resources, and alignment between vehicle maintenance plans and infrastructure readiness. The position supports daily operations by developing maintenance plans, analyzing asset data, coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams, and maintaining accurate planning and scheduling data within SAP.

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

Develop and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance plans for LRVs and related infrastructure assets using GSI (SAP).

Create, optimize, and release maintenance work plans and schedules in alignment with operational requirements and fleet availability targets.

Balance short-term operational needs with long-term maintenance strategies to support asset reliability and lifecycle objectives.

Coordinate maintenance windows with operations to minimize service impact.

LRV & Infrastructure Coordination

Plan and integrate LRV maintenance activities with infrastructure availability, including depots, tracks, facilities, and supporting systems.

Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to align work scope, resources, and timelines.

Support planning for special projects, overhauls, modifications, and infrastructure interventions.

Identify and elevate planning conflicts, capacity constraints, or risks to schedule adherence.

SAP (GSI) Data & Asset Management

Maintain accurate master data, task lists, maintenance plans, and scheduling parameters within GSI (SAP).

Ensure work orders are properly structured, resourced, and sequenced for execution.

Analyze maintenance history, failure trends, and asset performance data to support continuous improvement.

Support data quality initiatives to ensure reliability of planning and reporting outputs.

Compliance, Safety & Documentation

Ensure maintenance plans comply with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate planning records, schedules, and maintenance documentation.

Incorporate safety, environmental, and operational constraints into maintenance planning activities.

Support corrective actions arising from audits, inspections, or performance reviews.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

Monitor schedule adherence and provide planning adjustments as required.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance efficiency, asset availability, and planning accuracy.

Participate in cross-functional meetings to review performance, risks, and upcoming maintenance demands.

Assist with planning process improvements and SAP best-practice adoption.

Required

Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or asset management within a rail, transit, or industrial environment.

Working knowledge of SAP (GSI) for maintenance planning and work order management.

Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

Ability to interpret technical documentation, maintenance requirements, and asset data.

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Understanding of maintenance principles for rolling stock and/or infrastructure assets.

Preferred

Experience planning maintenance for LRVs, rail vehicles, or transit infrastructure.

Technical diploma or degree in engineering, maintenance, asset management, or a related field.

Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) or lifecycle asset management concepts.

Knowledge of rail safety, regulatory, or quality standards.

Experience working in a unionized, 24/7 operational environment.

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is $75,000 – $85,000 CAD per year. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
