Summary of responsibilities
The Physiotherapist provides quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment and education to referred patients/families and caregivers based on a client centered approach; education and clinical training for physiotherapy students and hospital employees; consulting services to community agencies. The physiotherapist performs physical/functional assessment on all referred patients which include: acute inpatients, outpatients and adult rehabilitation inpatients; documents patient assessment, treatment, progress, discharge plans and statistics;
initiates and participate in physiotherapy in-services and hospital quality assurance programs as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.
Requirements of the job
• BSc in Physical Therapy from an accredited Canadian Physiotherapy program
• Licensed with or eligible for licensure with the Ontario College of Physiotherapists
• Good understanding of Quality Improvement
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
Preferred:
• MSc in Physical Therapy from an accredited Canadian Physiotherapy program
Asset:
• Functional proficiency in French, oral with testing completed
