The Process Optimization Student’s purpose is to assist in developing, configuring and optimizing industrial processes related to a high-speed packaging department. The student works closely with the Plant Manufacturing Manager, to evaluate, take measurements and interpret data to improve processes.

• Work closely with a cross functional team to optimize production in a highly automated packaging department by analyzing production data to identify trends and implement solutions.
• Responsible for completing an improvement project in the assigned area.
• Help develop and review Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions for the production lines.
• Ensure all safety policies, good manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures are always adhered to, and that all products consistently meet specifications. When assigned or required, ensure timely and thorough sanitation of all equipment and facilities to allow for efficient and on‑time production start‑up and delivery of products to customers.
• Support production supervisors / managers for necessary activities in the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pursing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
• Self-driven and able to work independently.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven attention to details but also able to see the big picture.
• Good Communicator, listener and presenter
• Ability to adapt to changing culture/environments
• Able to work alone with minimal supervision effectively.
