The Logistics Optimization Student’s purpose is to assist in developing, configuring and optimizing industrial processes related the transportation, warehousing and planning department. The student works closely with the Logistics & Planning Manager, to evaluate, take measurements and interpret data to improve processes.

• Work closely with a cross functional team to optimize production in a highly automated plant by analyzing production data to identify trends and implement solutions.
• Responsible for completing an improvement project in the assigned area.
• Help develop and review Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions for the production department.
• Ensure all safety policies, good manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures are always adhered to, and that all products consistently meet specifications.
• Support supervisors, planners & managers for necessary activities in the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pursing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
• Self‑driven and able to work independently.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven attention to details but also able to see the big picture.
• Good Communicator, listener and presenter
• Ability to adapt to changing culture/environments
• Able to work alone with minimal supervision effectively.
