About the opportunity:The Logistics Optimization Student’s purpose is to assist in developing, configuring and optimizing industrial processes related the transportation, warehousing and planning department. The student works closely with the Logistics & Planning Manager, to evaluate, take measurements and interpret data to improve processes.
The attributes we are looking for:- Work closely with a cross functional team to optimize production in a highly automated plant by analyzing production data to identify trends and implement solutions.
- Responsible for completing an improvement project in the assigned area.
- Help develop and review Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions for the production department.
- Ensure all safety policies, good manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures are always adhered to, and that all products consistently meet specifications.
- Support supervisors, planners & managers for necessary activities in the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Pursing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
- Self‑driven and able to work independently.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven attention to details but also able to see the big picture.
- Good Communicator, listener and presenter
- Ability to adapt to changing culture/environments
- Able to work alone with minimal supervision effectively.
