* We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Pulmonologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide expert respiratory and critical care services within a Level I Trauma Center, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex pulmonary and critical care cases. This role involves collaboration with specialists across various disciplines, utilizing advanced medical technologies and EMR systems to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in an inpatient setting.
* Duties
* * Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, including physical examinations and patient assessments, focusing on respiratory and critical care needs.
* Manage airway management procedures, ventilator support, and acute pain management for critically ill patients.
* Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as CT scans, diagnostic radiology, and pulmonary function testing to inform treatment plans.
* Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and post-acute care strategies.
* Perform procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and other interventional radiology techniques related to pulmonology.
* Engage in clinical research activities to advance pulmonary medicine practices and improve patient outcomes.
* Maintain accurate medical records adhering to HIPAA standards and utilize EMR systems like Epic for documentation and order entry.
* Participate in hospital committees focused on infection control, quality improvement, and adherence to NCQA standards.
* Provide education and counseling to patients regarding disease management, health coaching, and lifestyle modifications.
* Requirements
* * Medical degree from an accredited institution with board certification or eligibility in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine.
* Proven experience in inpatient critical care settings, including ICU experience at Level I Trauma Centers preferred.
* Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms; experience with medical imaging interpretation is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
* Ability to perform airway management procedures, ventilator management, and other interventional pulmonology techniques.
* Experience with telehealth platforms is desirable; commitment to ongoing professional development is essential.
* Must hold a valid medical license in the state of practice and be eligible for hospital credentialing.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining high standards of patient care.
