Job DescriptionThe Quality Engineer will interface with the factory teams supporting first article inspections and source inspections of production parts, and become a DSQR/DQR for various primes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure cross‑functional engineering and production teams are aware of and adhere to applicable customer requirements.
- Knowledge of the AS9100, AS9102, AS13001 & AS13100 standards.
- Review program documentation, including specifications, requirements, specification control drawings, assembly drawings, test plans, procedures, instructions and standard operating procedures prior to release for correctness to technical standards.
- Implement objectives and procedures for initial development projects (APQP/PPAP).
- Ensure correct flow‑through of all Quality requirements both internally and externally.
- Conduct product and process assessments, lead root‑cause and corrective‑action activities.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships; process and validate customer corrective action requests.
- Plan for and/or perform First Article Inspection (FAI); participate in audits.
- Engage with Engineering and Operations in transition to production activities, including DFMA and PFMEA to identify potential product and process risks and mitigation actions.
- Minimum seven years’ related Quality Engineering or relevant experience.
- Ability to technically interface with various engineering disciplines and customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage customers, team members, suppliers, and management.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross‑functional process improvement teams.
- Proficient in MS Office computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems is a plus.
- General knowledge of regulations and standards.
- High energy, self‑starting team player who achieves results.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent prior relevant experience.
Must be a “U.S. Person,” defined as a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien or individual granted Asylum status under the laws of the United States.
