Job SummaryReporting to the Automation Technology Manager, the Automation Specialist is a solutions‑sales support resource responsible for delivering automation components and systems (electrical, controls, pneumatic, mechanical/electro‑mechanical hardware). The Specialist analyzes customer requirements, develops tailored solutions, and facilitates communication between customers, vendors, and MFCP engineering to ensure project success.
Primary Duties- Proactively increase sales of Automation products such as PLCs, motion control units, pneumatics, VFDs, sensors, etc., across assigned districts/branches.
- Interpret customer and sales information to establish explicit project scopes and work definitions.
- Gather critical information to ensure MFCP delivers profitable engineered system solutions.
- Act as an engineering liaison, showcasing engineered system capabilities to internal and external clients.
- Engage with customers to support engineered system design and maintain high satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for hydraulic product and solution offerings where no dedicated manager exists.
- Collaborate with other MFCP departments (accounting, shipping, contracts, etc.) to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Lead or provide expert assistance with installation, startup, and troubleshooting of engineered systems, including potential third‑party systems.
- Leverage and promote the full range of MFCP and vendor partner capabilities to deliver comprehensive solutions.

- Proven experience selling automation systems (control panels, electromechanical assemblies, pneumatic assemblies, and MFCP build‑center solutions). Ten years of field experience preferred, with a minimum of five years.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Working knowledge of P21 ERP and Tour De Force.
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive. Requires frequent lifting up to 75 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, and constant walking/standing on cement flooring. Work environment may vary (warehouse, office, manufacturing, machine shops, railways, etc.). Reasonable accommodations available for employees with disabilities.
Salary110-130K annually, DOE.
