The Enrichment Support Specialist supports adults with autism or developmental disabilities in a day program setting. This role includes helping with daily living tasks, encouraging social interaction, and guiding activities that promote independence and personal growth.

• Supervise and/or assist clients with dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Assist with daily living activities
• Assist clients during including food preparation and cleanup
• Socialize with clients and help them access peer interactions and engagement
• Use verbal praise and behavior reinforcement
• Monitor the safety of clients on campus and during field trips
• Provide individualized assistance during all program activities
• Assist with daily activities, projects, and workshops, and encourage participant communication and independence
• Complete related paperwork and documentation, including daily data
• Assist with assessments periodically
• Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned

In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking on sloped/hilly areas of campus, carrying, driving, lifting (up to 50 pounds), listening, speaking, reaching, writing, and participating in restraint procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Prior experience in supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
• Work onsite and meet the needs of the clients that they serve.
• Ability to pass and utilize crisis intervention training within three months of employment
• Ability to pass and utilize First Aid and CPR Certification within three months of employment
• Reliable, caring, and comfortable, helping others build life skills
• Able to work as part of a team and communicate clearly in a positive manner
• Willing to learn and support the program’s structure and goals
