Saalex is seeking an Engineer Tech 4/Engineer Tech 5 in Corona, CA. Saalex Solutions, a division of Saalex Corp., is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Salary: $70k-$80k annually (depending on experience)

Work Location: Onsite.

Essential Functions:

• Developing custom object detection models for specific objects/events relevant to WISS
• Optimizing existing computer vision algorithms for performance
• Integrating trained models into the WISS Controller Software
• Improving tools for data collection, annotation, and model training
• Troubleshooting and debugging computer vision-related issues
• Other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Required:

• Front End/Back End Development experience
• Visual Studio 2022 IDE experience
• SQL Server 2022 experience
• C#, Python, JSON, and other languages experience
• Computer Vision (CV) Expertise:
  This is the core requirement
• OpenCV
• YOLOv8
• Model Training:
  Ability to train new CV models and integrate them into the WISS Controller Software. This implies a continuous improvement process and adaptation to new scenarios
• WISS-Specific Knowledge:
  Lens Calibration Procedures:
  Essential for accurate image analysis and processing within the WISS system
• Scoring Procedures:
  The developer needs to understand how the system judges/scores events detected by the computer vision algorithms
• WISS CONOPS:
  Understanding of WISS networks, scoring, operator roles, and training capabilities
• HS Diploma or GED

Education: HS Diploma or GED required.

Security Clearance: Active secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
