The Maintenance Lead oversees and ensures efficient maintenance, repair, and optimization of equipment, systems, and industrial facility infrastructure. The role minimizes downtime, maintains operational efficiency, and ensures safety standards are met. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Supervise and guide a team of maintenance technicians.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and manage workloads to meet maintenance schedules.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Oversee routine inspections and maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate and schedule repairs to minimize disruptions to production.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and operational inefficiencies.
- Lead troubleshooting during emergencies or critical failures.
- Maintain documentation of incidents, diagnostics, and resolutions.
- Ensure maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Manage spare parts and maintenance supplies inventory.
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors for tools, parts, and materials.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams.
- Communicate with management about maintenance needs, challenges, and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Prepare and submit reports on maintenance metrics, downtime analysis, and cost management.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Lead or participate in projects to upgrade systems or adopt new technologies.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with inventory management software or CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment (mechanical, electrical, or automation systems).
- Ability to work with required PPE (gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses/shield, respirator, hard hats, etc.).
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is highly preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
- Technical or vocational training.
- Certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, welding – a plus.
- Bilingual – Spanish preferred.
- Communication proficiency; ability to respond effectively to internal and external contacts.
- Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry.
- Advanced:

Employee requires regular talking and hearing, mostly sedentary work. Repetitive hand movements; standing, walking, bending, climbing or balance; stoop or kneel, crouch or crawl; occasional lifting of 25‑30 lbs. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, adjusted focus and ability to work in front of a computer monitor for extended periods.
Work EnvironmentPosition located in maintenance cage area. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts. Noise levels loud; temperature varies with time of year.
