Job Description
- Operate Mill machines at a first article proven stage to produce scheduled production rates.
- Perform milling, drilling, tapping, deburring, and perform first article and in-process inspection.
- Familiarize with basic machine functions to complete above tasks.
- Keep required documents in place (travelers, blueprints, tool maintenance log, daily production log).
- Run first article inspection and replace tools as required.
- Edit and optimize programs to meet cycle time, tool life, and quality requirements.
- Able to produce parts quickly and efficiently to ensure quick turnaround.
- Help create fixtures to support machining jobs.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and equipment and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
- Accept frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set‑up.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Execute job assignments according to job travelers.
- Create job setup sheets and maintain quality records.
- Initial or sign and date all documents and revisions as applicable.
- Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.
- 6+ months of experience as a CNC Mill Operator (preferred).
- Knowledge of the applicable QMS policies and procedures.
- Training in the nonconforming material procedure.
- Required cutting tool knowledge.
- Inspection skills.
- Knowledge of different CNC controls.
- Knowledge of different materials.
- Basic math skills.
- Blueprint reading.
- Knowledge of routing.
First Shift: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe essential functions of this position require the employee to talk or hear, sit, occasionally stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop or crouch, and frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds with occasional lifts of up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to plant environment, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and/or caustic chemicals.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
