Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Position Description

Title: Mailer Operator I

Department: Production

Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff

Status: Hourly Non‑Exempt

Position

Purpose:

Operates mailer equipment

• Responsible for safe, controlled set‑up, operation, and troubleshooting equipment and processes.
• Ensure product is manufactured and completed as per technical specifications.
• Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure products comply with production standards.
• Ensure equipment and set‑up parameters are established, followed and improved.
• Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set‑ups.
• Records quality and production metrics via written/electronic methods and within time deadlines.
• Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
• Coaching and mentoring assistants by providing clear and precise instructions.
• Ensure all safety rules and company policies/procedures are followed.
• Perform quality control checks.
• Ability to read tape measure.
• Must be detail‑oriented and have a sense of urgency.
• Use PPE as required.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Related tasks as requested by supervisor.

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to repeatedly lift to a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Must have basic computer skills (AS400, Microsoft Office).
• Must have basic math skills.
