Christmas Event for Ukrainian Refugee Children
Join the Slavic Refugee and Immigrant Services Organisation for their Christmas event, which is put together for Ukrainian families to feel and share the Christmas spirit. This event needs enthusiastic volunteers to help make it special for kids.
Tasks may include:
- Setting up the event space, decorating
- Assembling gift bags
- Organizing activity stations
- Assisting children with arts and crafts
- Helping distribute food and refreshments
- Managing the guest check-in table
- Supporting cultural activities such as music or games
- Guiding families through the event
- Taking photos (if permitted)
- Ensuring supplies remain stocked
- Assisting with cleanup after the celebration
This is a hands‑on opportunity to bring comfort and happiness to families rebuilding their lives after displacement.
If you are interested in giving back to the community and spreading holiday cheer, they would love to have your help.
Opportunity Requirements & Important NotesAttire: Festive Christmas-themed clothes and costumes are recommended, along with a jacket for the chilly evening. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade so volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen and a hat.
Bring: If volunteers have games that can be played with outside, they are encouraged to bring them.
Physical Requirements: Light lifting such as carrying a decorated Christmas tree and tables. Unfortunately this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations as the space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.
