  • Hourly Pay Range: $56.58 – $70.17 – $83.76
  • The pay scale reflects the range defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp Health Care and its nurses union. Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.

What You Will Do

To provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of nursing school.
  • 2 Years clinical experience.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) – CA Board of Registered Nursing – REQUIRED.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association – REQUIRED.
Essential Functions
  • Delegates/assigns and communicates expectations for care delivery processes to each member of the team; knows what can and cannot be delegated to each team member; analyzes each situation and consistently applies levels of supervision needed; assesses appropriateness of physician orders and questions them when appropriate.
  • Documents per department/entity guidelines of care and policies and procedures; serves as a resource for other staff in managing unit‑specific documentation issues.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patient and family; anticipates problems and acts to enhance quality of nurse/patient/family interaction; serves as a patient advocate through actions such as removing obstacles, identifying and supporting needs and wants, interpreting for patient to physician and vice‑versa.
  • Helps coworkers improve performance; offers assistance, positive feedback, and supports coworkers; provides unit‑specific information and imaging, teaches team members, and seeks out opportunities to assist and support coworkers.
  • Provides age‑appropriate patient education that facilitates recovery, self‑care, end‑of‑life care, and health maintenance; coordinates transfer and discharge planning; collaborates on patient education materials.
  • Uses systematic planning and timely exchange of information with multidisciplinary team and patient/family to coordinate care; manages multiple patient needs; communicates actively and uses resources to problem‑solve.
  • Utilizes the nursing process and critical thinking to provide patient care; identifies and evaluates interventions, makes referrals, collaborates with team, prioritizes resources, and demonstrates accountability for patient outcomes; acts as preceptor/teacher where appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Independently performs the nursing process through individualized assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; demonstrates competency in unit skills; coordinates patient care and may assume relief charge nurse or preceptorship roles; uses equipment and medications safely; recognizes inconsistencies and manages potential complications; demonstrates consistent organization and prioritization of workload.
