Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to perform a variety of accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, grant and billing reporting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, foundational knowledge of accounting practices, and the ability to meet deadlines. Experience with property management or nonprofit organizations is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and assigned accounts.
- Manage accounting for multiple funding sources including federal, state, and private contracts.
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and closeout financial reports.
- Assist program staff with budget tracking
- Work with finance team to allocate shared costs and ensure fund usage complies with terms.
- Develop and monitor budgets for various grants and contracts.
- Prepare internal financial reports for the executive team.
- Maintain organized financial records and grant documentation.
- Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Uniform Guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR
Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- General accounting experience required; exposure to property management or nonprofit accounting is a plus.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or lifting (up to 15 pounds).
