Overview
Construction Manager - Land Port of Entry (LPOE) role s position requires relocation to Brownsville, TX.
Responsibilities- Assist the GSA project team during all project phases and perform the functions described in the job posting.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including preparing written reports, correspondence, and briefings for clients and management.
- Interpret construction contract drawings, specifications, and FAR/GSAR clauses; understand fundamentals of construction contract law.
- Understand construction management procedures and scheduling software (e.g., Prolog Manager, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Author and create written reports and documentation.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of CPM schedules and use in managing large building construction projects; work with Kahua.
- Conduct inspections to resolve problems on construction projects and briefing Government personnel.
- Knowledge of construction practices and installation methods for materials, systems, and related components.
- Inspect construction materials and workmanship; monitor scheduling, budgeting, materials, methods, and industry design standards.
- Support LEED and SITES objectives to help the Gateway LPOE Project achieve LEED Gold and SITES certification.
- Maintain responsive communication with the GSA project team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of construction management experience.
- Experience managing modernization or new construction of a LPOE, campus, or facility, including canopies, administration buildings, holding cells, offices, parking areas, utility relocations, and road/site work. Project value greater than $50 million.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, contract management, project delivery methods, and team building.
- GSA experience is highly desirable.
- US Citizenship required.
