Posting Number PT1752 – Master Tailor Pool – Department Art and Drama – Position Type Non-Exempt – Employment Status Part-Time – Salary $16.00 per hour – Open Date 11/12/2025 – Close Date Open Until Filled – Opening open until filled.

Experienced Master Tailor who can interpret designer sketches and technical drawings into a fitting costume before the first Dress Rehearsal.

• Advanced Tailor with a minimum of ten (10) years experience.

• Consults with Costume Designer, adapts designs for costumes, or copies existing design from research for costumes.
• Alters costumes and joins parts with existing stock and new designs, using needle and thread or sewing machine, to form finished costume.
• Draws individual patterns or alters existing pattern to fit actors measurements.
• Sews buttons and buttonholes to finish costume.
• Presses costumes using hand iron or pressing machine.
• Confers with designer to determine type of material and garment style desired.
• Positions pattern of costume parts on fabric and cuts fabric along outline using scissors.
• Adjusts costume fit after designer’s first fitting.

• Associate degree or higher.
• Experience in the theatre industry, in an educational setting, in a related field in wardrobe/makeup area in film/television, or experience in the Technical Fashion industry.
• Hands on industry professional experience is highly desired.
