Texas Senate Bill 425

Senate Bill 425, passed by the Texas Legislature during the 84th Regular Session, requires all FECs to post notice of the following:

This is a Freestanding Emergency Medical Care Facility.

This facility charges rates comparable to a hospital Emergency Room and may charge a facility fee.

This facility or physician providing medical care at this facility may not be a participating provider in your Health Benefit Plan network.

A physician providing medical care at this facility may bill separately from the facility for the care provided.

If we are not in-network with your health plan, federal law requires insurance companies to process your ER visit at the in-network benefit level.

We are not yet recognized by Medicaid. To assist us in accepting these insurance plans, please contact your legislators.

House Bill 2041

Passed during the 86th Regular Session, this bill requires all FECs to post notice of the following:

This facility is a Freestanding Emergency Medical Care Facility.

This facility charges rates comparable to a hospital Emergency Room and may charge a facility fee.

The facility or physician may be out of network for your health benefit plan.

A physician may bill separately from the facility for the care provided.

Texas Senate Bill 2038

Freestanding ERs are required to share testing charges or vaccinations for infectious diseases during a state of disaster.

FFCRA & CARES Act Provider Compliance

Under the FFCRA and CARES Act, we provide CPT codes related to COVID-19 testing and services, including:

SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 Antibody tests
SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 PCR tests

NO SURPRISE BILLING

Your emergency care should be covered at in-network levels by law, regardless of the facility's contracted status. Surprise bills occur when private insurers deny coverage, leading to higher patient costs. Physicians Premier will never send a surprise bill. Although our ER is out-of-network, federal law mandates insurance to process your visit at the in-network level in true emergencies.
