Job Description Summary
Potentially teach a variety of courses including:
Audio Recording and Editing, Live Sound, MIDI and Synthesis, Audio for Video, and other department classes as assigned. Classes may be held during the day, evening, or a combination of both.
- Associates degree in a Recording Arts related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time audio industry experience (studio, live sound, music business).
- Knowledge of Studio Sound Recording (recording and mixing), Live Sound production, Audio for Video techniques, Audio Editing and sound design.
- Working knowledge of multiple DAWs needed for some courses.
- Demonstrated ability with current digital software applications and the Macintosh Operating System.
- Ability to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
- Technical expertise in studio design, electronics, and signal routing including the ability to read schematics.
- Strong ability and knowledge of audio fundamentals (acoustic and analog).
- Ability to teach studio electronic repair if needed.
- Command of audio electronic equipment hardware.
- Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in current Logic Pro, Reaper, Pro Tools.

- Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College relative to teaching duties and training and develop.
- Be available to students for coaching.
- Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
- Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes.
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
- Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
- Deliver course content to enrolled students.
