Major emphasis is on teaching in the classroom and clinical supervision in health care facilities according to Texas Board of Nursing requirements. Assist with development of course curriculum, instructional materials, and selection of textbooks/resources. Work with students from various multicultural backgrounds in skills/simulation lab experiences and student conferences. Others include posted office hours, committee work, student advising, and professional/community activities. Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Nursing.
- Three (3) years clinical work experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas (submission of certification required).
- Current CPR/BLS for the Healthcare Provider certification (submission of certification required).
- Current negative TB test and other required immunizations as stipulated by healthcare agencies (documentation required prior to the first day of employment).
- Recent documented medical/surgical clinical experience.
- Student clinical supervision experience.
- Clinical teaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development and instructional methods.

Teach three (3) courses per regular semester, which may include online, face‑to‑face, and/or clinical programs.
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline. Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations responding to institutional need. Continuously improve the quality of instruction and employ diverse teaching methods and materials to support students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds.
Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes within the College grade and grade‑appeal procedures. Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines, clarifying course content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods, and schedule. Maintain an environment that promotes teaching and learning, and hold scheduled posted virtual or physical office hours of at least one (1) hour daily. Encourage conferences with students to enhance understanding and improvement. Assist in academic advising of declared majors and help with marketing and recruiting students.
Participate in the self‑evaluation process, establish goals and objectives, and maintain professional standards through engagement activities. Serve on committees, accept special assignments, and participate in scheduled institutional activities (e.g., convocation and graduation ceremonies). Engage in department, divisional, and College meetings and activities required to maintain program and College accreditation standards. Contribute to the College planning process and assist with the formulation of goals, objectives, budget priorities, and professional assignments in accordance with the College calendar.
