Kent is looking for a Senior I&C Engineer to be based in our Corpus Christi, TX office and report to the Electrical and I&C Department Manager. You will interact with other disciplines and groups on site, corporate technical networks, peers, and vendors/suppliers to successfully implement and startup new equipment installations and revamps.
You are responsible for engineering activities and the development of technical deliverables to meet the schedule, scope, budget and quality requirements of multi‑disciplined projects. Experience leading larger projects with $150M+ TIC is required.
Responsibilities- Provide project discipline engineering support on project teams towards the successful completion of projects as assigned so that they are completed and meet the objectives.
- Work with design resources internally and externally to achieve cost‑effective and technically sound designs.
- Collaborate and engage disciplines, process operators, engineers, control systems engineers, and operations/maintenance superintendents towards project success.
- Follow the Capital project process and meeting the Delegation of Authority (DOA) policy, working through the Capital Project Checklist and documenting all project phases.
- Coordinate subcontract engineers and designers to ensure subcontractor work meets standards, guidelines, and customer requirements.
- Prepare or review/approve specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
- Perform periodic design reviews; ensure designs follow specifications, codes, regulations, and contract requirements, maintaining technical and quality standards.
- Design, develop, and implement new Basic Regulatory and Advanced Process Control applications.
- Document and maintain all communications that impact technical decisions.
- Assist in reviewing cost estimates for construction at various design stages.
- Participate in developing criteria for and evaluating equipment, technical material suppliers, and service providers.
- Consult with peers on site and across the company.
- Support the development of control logic Functional Specifications for automation and operator control logic into DCS systems.
- Support the review of alarm rationalization for capital automation projects.
- Support procedures for FAT and PSAT of project‑installed or modified SIS.
- Support function tests, PSAT, FAT, PSSR and startup activities and ensure proper documentation and data integrity of testing.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in refining, petrochemicals, ammonia facilities, carbon capture and storage, biofuels, gas turbines, cogen, and hydrogen facilities.
- P.E. license (preferable in Texas) is required or able to obtain by comity; NCEES license required.
