About the jobPosition:
Piping Designer
Location:
Corpus Christi, TX
Role:
Support regional project sites by preparing, modifying and reviewing piping designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantity and design calculations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the design process for piping projects and ensuring drawings are delivered on time.
- Reviewing designs and providing feedback to the design team.
- Co‑ordinating with clients and other stakeholders on design matters.
- Maintaining complete records and documentation throughout the project.
- Assessing, mitigating and managing design risks.
- Ensuring designs comply with health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards (e.g., BREEAM) and industry codes of practice.
- Leading the design team, chairing design meetings, writing reports and giving presentations.
Other duties may be assigned as needed or directed by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of piping design experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Refinery industry.
- Experience preparing design deliverables such as BOM, panel & cable schedules, 3D models, layout drawings, calculations for cable trays and trench sizing.
- Knowledge of CAD standards and ability to produce engineering and construction drawings.
- Ability to conduct site surveys, perform technical audits and quality reviews.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Team orientation – works cooperatively within a team environment.
- Autonomous – performs work without direct supervision.
- Resilience – can work effectively under pressure.
