Distribution Planning Engineer (Associate to Principal Level)

Full‑time, office‑based engineering role focused on distribution planning, forecasting, and process improvement.
Job SummaryResponsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects that require the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient, and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.
Responsibilities- Apply intermediate to advanced engineering knowledge to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analysis.
- Coordinate work activities of others within the work group and perform routine engineering activity with minimum direction.
- Develop, review, and present technical reports such as improvement requisitions, studies, and analyses in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
- Initiate corrective action when project objectives are not being met and resolve routine problems requiring additional definition.
- Use scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts) for budget and planning activities.
- Build consensus, resolve conflict, and network with peers inside and outside the AEP system.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (or equivalent).
- 2 to 4 years of related engineering experience for Engineer entry level; 4 to 6 years for Engineer II; 6 to 8 years for Engineer Senior; 8+ years for Engineer Principal.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred; a PE license may be waived by the EVP for this position.
- Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes and to understand interrelationship between systems and component equipment.
Salary range: $72,380 – $146,730 per year (based on offered salary grade SP20-006). Additional equity and benefits may be available.
