Responsibilities- Coordinates and delivers internal and external Corporate Public Affairs programs and events.
- Provides creative input into the development of the company's overall public affairs goals.
- Creates and develops H-E-B public affairs materials, including press releases and correspondence, independently.
- Sets program goals and objectives and manages for success to meet stated objectives.
- Works with outside contractors and agencies to design key collateral materials.
- Develops editorial content for internal and external publications.
- Represents the company at key functions and events and serves as news media spokesperson within defined parameters, serving on task forces and/or committees as needed.
- Manages volunteer activities for the company.
- Maintains good relationships in the community including both public and private sectors and non-profit organizations.
- Plans and conduct special events and signature community programs including planning, logistics, and measurements of success to meet stated objectives.
- Manages third-party vendor and contractor relationships to include outside public relations consultants.
- Facilitates meetings and project teams

Qualifications& Key Requirements
- Career individual contributor in a professional role. Works independently, receiving general instructions on new assignments, and a review of outcomes for technical soundness. Possesses complete knowledge of role. Applies a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to assignments containing some elements of complexity. Majority of work is spent both independently planning and completing the design, implementation, and/or delivery of processes, programs, and/or policies.
- Networks with more senior internal and external stakeholders who may be unfamiliar with the area of specialty.
- Bachelor's degree or additional role-relevant experience. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- History of working relationships with public officials (municipal, county, state, federal)
- Understanding of operational functions of non-profit, government, non-government, and other civic organizations
- Familiarity with what's needed to manage outside public relations, advertising, and promotional contractors
- Advanced public speaking, presentation, and writing skills
- Advanced interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Function in a fast-paced, office environment
- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
- Work extended hours; sit for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more
