Job Title:
Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Classification:
Full Time or Part Time
Reports to:
Chief Medical Officer
Salary: $62.50 - $72 per hour
Provide direct medical care to patients of the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation.
Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of chronic and acute illnesses.
- Attend to patients in a timely and orderly manner to keep waiting time to a minimum and maximize productivity.
- Obtain appropriate patient history, perform physical evaluation, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and follow‑up with interpretation, formulate assessment, and initiate treatment plan with appropriate follow‑up appointments.
- Order and review incoming reports (e.g., lab, x‑ray, EKG); sign, date, and follow up with patients in a timely manner.
- Ensure documentation is recorded in a complete, timely, and orderly manner, utilizing templates in the electronic medical record and utilizing the electronic health record to its full capacity.
- Collaborate with other physicians, nurse‑practitioners, medical assistants, and available in‑house social service support programs to ensure efficient, high‑quality integrated care.
- Work independently with strong clinical judgment.
- Complete three to four patient encounters per clinical hour.
- Close patient encounter notes within three business days after encounter occurs.
- Maintain a positive, “can do” attitude focused on positive patient interactions and improving the practice.
- Current license to practice as an APRN or PA in Texas with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity.
- Active DEA license (or ability to obtain).
- Previous experience in a primary‑care setting preferred.
- Spanish speaking a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Normal clinic hours are Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week. Some negotiation in schedule is available, based on needs of clinic.
- Some travel to satellite clinic locations may be required, based on clinic needs.
- Tasks occur in both medical office and clinic setting.
- Able to lift 25 lbs and perform normal duties associated in a clinic and office setting.
