Position: Care Attendant /Medication Tech 3p-11p

Position Summary:

Medication Techs/Med Techs primarily focus on medication administration and related duties/tasks under the supervision of a nurse and the RN Delegator, following the guidelines provided by Senior Solutions Management Group and State Regulations. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for supervision of self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMGguidelines as directed by the Wellness Director.
  • Preparing medications, ensuring proper dosages and administration times, documenting medication given, and monitoring patients for reactions.
  • Assist with other patient care tasks and maintain medication inventory.
  • Reports any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation to the Wellness Director.
  • Responds quickly to all emergencies.
  • Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members.
  • Provides educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by Supervisor.
  • Understands role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of
    accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working
    practices.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and
    co-workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/

Educational Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months
  • related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience.
  • Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid, Private Caregiver
  • Must be trainable and available for onsite training, medication training by RN Delegator
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and have transportation to and from work for scheduled shifts
  • Position also requires resident care when not assisting with medication administration
