The registered nurse is responsible for coordinating nursing care of assigned patients in Labor & Delivery to provide quality patient care. The RN applies knowledge of growth and development principles and uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) with independent judgment. The RN works cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel to maintain high standards of professional nursing practice.

Duties may vary depending on the assigned area.

• Collect and analyze data to identify expected outcomes for observation and medical/surgical patients.
• Develop and prioritize the plan of care to attain measurable goals.
• Implement interventions and evaluate results, especially for critical‑care patients.
• Identify educational needs, implement and evaluate learning, and document patient/family education.
• Demonstrate critical thought and judgment in the delivery of care related to critical‑care patients.
• Deliver medications based upon continual assessment, safety, and evaluation of patient response.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or current enrollment.
• Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS and NRP certifications.
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course within 90 days of hire date.

Seasonal position: full‑time, PRN day shift, 6 shifts per pay period, October 2025 to April 4, 2026.
