A leading healthcare organization in the Coastal Bend region is seeking an experienced Manager of Labor & Delivery (RN) to oversee a high-volume, comprehensive women’s services unit. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team and ensure exceptional, patient-centered care across multiple obstetric care areas.
About the RoleThe L&D Nurse Manager provides operational and clinical leadership across a 19-bed Labor unit, 5-bed OBED, and 3 surgical suites. This leader is responsible for staffing, workflow, quality initiatives, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards. The role also includes rotating on-call oversight for Postpartum, Antepartum, and Labor & Delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care within the L&D department
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource allocation
- Monitor and evaluate clinical care delivery and maintain compliance with policies and standards
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of 80 FTEs across L&D and related care areas
- Promote continuous improvement and accountability for clinical outcomes
- Serve as a resource for clinical practice, education, and patient care issues
- Collaborate closely with hospital leadership to meet departmental and organizational goals
- 1 year of recent (within last year) Labor & Delivery leadership experience — Required
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma — Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing — Preferred
- Current RN license (Texas or compact eligible)
