Stroke Program Coordinator – Corpus Christi Medical Center

- Administer the stroke program under the guidance of the Medical Director, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and American Academy of Neurology Clinical Practice guidelines.
- Meet with the Stroke Medical Director to facilitate updates and improvements in the hospital stroke program.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with the Neuro team physicians.
- Complete daily concurrent reviews of all Neurology and Neurosurgery patient census to assure TIA and Stroke Core Measures are timely for Kingwood patients, briefing Neuro Nurse Practitioners on measures that require written orders and coordinating with unit nurses on measures requiring completion.
- Orchestrate the hospital’s Stroke Center designation, maintain performance standards and coordinate ongoing compliance across departments, including data collection and submission for accrediting bodies.
- Maintain the hospital’s State of Texas Stroke Center Designation every two years.
- Participate in or guide the development of quality improvement activities that ensure continued improvement of care delivery.
- Develop and maintain oversight of the hospital Stroke Core Measure checklist tool to assure compliance with current measure requirements.
- Provide leadership in the ongoing process development of the Stroke Program at Kingwood Medical Center by coordinating all phases of Neuroscience Team meetings, assisting with meeting agendas, minutes and record keeping.
- Report hospital‑wide performance improvement data on strokes, trends, issues and other pertinent metrics.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) designation.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
