Day Shift | Leadership Role | Rotating on-call responsibility every third week (phone support only unless an urgent need arises)

Compensation
  • Minimum: $36.43/hr
  • Midpoint (10 years): $45.54/hr
  • Maximum (15+ years): $51.00/hr

A leading healthcare organization in the Coastal Bend region is seeking an experienced Manager of Labor & Delivery (RN) to oversee a high-volume, comprehensive women’s services unit. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team and ensure exceptional, patient-centered care across multiple obstetric care areas.

About the Role

The L&D Nurse Manager provides operational and clinical leadership across a 19-bed Labor unit, 5-bed OBED, and 3 surgical suites. This leader is responsible for staffing, workflow, quality initiatives, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards. The role also includes rotating on-call oversight for Postpartum, Antepartum, and Labor & Delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care within the L&D department
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical care delivery and maintain compliance with policies and standards
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 80 FTEs across L&D and related care areas
  • Promote continuous improvement and accountability for clinical outcomes
  • Serve as a resource for clinical practice, education, and patient care issues
  • Collaborate closely with hospital leadership to meet departmental and organizational goals
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of recent (within last year) Labor & Delivery leadership experience – Required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma – Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Preferred
  • Current RN license (Texas or compact eligible)
  • Strong clinical background in women’s services preferred

Pay Details

$36.43 to $51.00 per hour
