For-profit behavioral hospital in Springfield, MO serving children, adolescents and adults who suffer with psychological and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight for all nursing services within inpatient, outpatient, and/or residential behavioral health programs serving children and adolescents.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based nursing care for patients with emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric needs.
  • Direct, supervise, and mentor nursing leadership and staff, including RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and support personnel.
  • Recruit, hire, train, onboard, and retain nursing staff; promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable nursing culture.
  • Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards in compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, state agencies).
  • Oversee staffing models, scheduling, and labor management to ensure adequate coverage and cost‑effective operations.
  • Monitor nursing performance, patient outcomes, incident reports, and quality metrics; lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with medication administration standards, restraint/seclusion policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
    Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive nursing experience, with significant experience in behavioral health.
  • Prior leadership experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor in a child/adolescent behavioral health, psychiatric hospital, or residential treatment setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent mental health
    , trauma‑informed care, and developmentally appropriate nursing practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, state licensing agencies).
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and retain nursing staff in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity behavioral health environment.
