For-profit behavioral hospital in Springfield, MO serving children, adolescents and adults who suffer with psychological and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight for all nursing services within inpatient, outpatient, and/or residential behavioral health programs serving children and adolescents.
- Ensure delivery of safe, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based nursing care for patients with emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric needs.
- Direct, supervise, and mentor nursing leadership and staff, including RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and support personnel.
- Recruit, hire, train, onboard, and retain nursing staff; promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable nursing culture.
- Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards in compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, state agencies).
- Oversee staffing models, scheduling, and labor management to ensure adequate coverage and cost‑effective operations.
- Monitor nursing performance, patient outcomes, incident reports, and quality metrics; lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with medication administration standards, restraint/seclusion policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred. - Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive nursing experience, with significant experience in behavioral health.
- Prior leadership experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor in a child/adolescent behavioral health, psychiatric hospital, or residential treatment setting preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent mental health
, trauma‑informed care, and developmentally appropriate nursing practices. - Strong working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, state licensing agencies).
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and retain nursing staff in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity behavioral health environment.
