American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 1+ year of recent acute med/surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• 3 East Ortho/Overflow Neuro unit within a hospital setting, 22 beds
• Day shift schedule, 7A-7P, 13-week assignment
• Patient ratios up to 6:1
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, and 0-2 sitters
• Night shift staffing includes 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, and 0-2 sitters
• Standard nursing equipment used on the unit
• Meditech EMR used
• Floating required to other med/surg units

• Active RN license (TX or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• 1+ years of recent acute med/surg experience within the last year required
• Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time required
• 2+ years of experience with neuro patients (CVA, TIA, AMS) preferred
• Neuro, neuro-surgery, or ortho background preferred; med/surg/telemetry background also considered
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Provide care for med/surg patients including IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, continuous bladder irrigation, and NGT insertion/maintenance
• Collaborate and communicate with all members of the care team and document in the EHR
• Friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused personality preferred
• Scrubs required per dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
