Practice:
Southside Animal Hospital is unique in the South Texas area as it is the only veterinary clinic with a wellness waiting area, a sick waiting area, and an isolation ward. We strive to provide the best medical and veterinary care to our patients. Not only do we have experienced veterinarians on staff, but we also have knowledgeable, compassionate, and experienced personnel to assist our clients and their pets.
In 2023, we were honored as the Best of Corpus Christi!
Our hospital is equipped with modern veterinary equipment to support our busy and diverse workload. We have 5 exam rooms (two with lift tables), a surgery suite with a separate dental table, digital radiology (including digital dental radiographs), ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and more!

Come extern with us!
Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program provides 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help them become 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.
Externships typically last 2 weeks, and Heartland will cover lodging costs if needed.
The length of the externship is flexible, and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Eligibility
Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
Must be able to provide student PLIT.
