The Texas State Aquarium provides high quality, entertaining programming through education, conservation, and wildlife rehabilitation. We strive to provide our guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide advanced knowledge and care for aquatic animals including amphibians, fish, and invertebrates.
- Clean and maintain aquarium exhibits and perform life support maintenance on all systems.
- Prepare animal diets and feed according to established procedures.
- Responsible for the day to day maintenance of life support systems and water quality perimeters in assigned area.
- This position will enter exhibits by use of SCUBA equipment to clean Exhibitory, provide animal care, and/or feed.
- Bachelor’s degree in marine biology or related field from four‑year college or university; one year of experience working in a public aquarium/zoo; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Open Water SCUBA certification.
- Certifications in First aid, CPR, AED and Emergency Oxygen.
