Position Summary
Student Assistant – Natural Sciences Laboratory Assistant includes the following disciplines:
- Biology
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry
- Geology
- Physics
The Laboratory Assistant will work directly under the tutelage of the Instructor of Record for a respective discipline. Primary responsibilities will involve hands‑on activities associated with the laboratory component of these courses. Activities primarily include preparation of materials used for the purpose of experimentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of skills associated with the laboratory component of biotechnology experimentation. This can be done by referencing successful completion of one or more of the above-mentioned courses, or by evidence citing analogous research skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful completion of college-level courses within the respective discipline.
