Responsibilities- Assist in the repair and overhaul of equipment, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately, and on time.
- Repair and overhauling of compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customer expectations.
- Perform general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machines, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions to deliver quality service.
- Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
- Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.
- Support the department by processing job tickets and work orders promptly.
- Pickup, deliver, and install cases.
- Execute minor construction and remodeling projects, including startup of new installations.
- Drive the company vehicle safely.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- EPA certification.
- Certification from an accredited vocational‑technical or trade school (plus).
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience.
- Experience with refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with single systems, rack systems, display cases, and walk‑in boxes.
- Good driving record and ability to work independently.
- Basic emergency on‑call and availability requirement.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance and to sit/stand for several hours.
