At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We are now looking for a Project Manager to support the delivery of lifecycle works across a Defence PFI portfolio. This role will focus on the planning and delivery of small-scale construction and refurbishment projects, ensuring assets are maintained, improved, and compliant with contractual and operational requirements.

The Role As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of delivering a programme of lifecycle works, managing 15–20 concurrent projects at any one time. These projects will typically involve facilities management, refurbishment, and minor construction works within a live Defence environment. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while supporting the wider lifecycle strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple small works projects across the lifecycle programme
  • Oversee projects within facilities management, construction, and refurbishment environments
  • Coordinate all project phases, including planning, procurement, delivery, and handover
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 15–20 live projects simultaneously, ensuring effective prioritisation
  • Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and performance against KPIs
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and Defence safety standards
  • Support lifecycle planning through feedback on asset conditions and project outcomes
About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Experience delivering projects within facilities management, construction, or refurbishment sectors
  • A proven track record of managing multiple small to medium-sized projects concurrently
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload
  • Experience working in regulated environments (Defence, PFI/PPP desirable)
  • A good understanding of health & safety and FM best practices
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with strong stakeholder management skills
What's in it for You?
  • Access to our flexible lifestyle benefits platform, Choices, including the option to purchase extra holiday, insurance, dental treatment and technology products
  • High street discounts through MiDeals, plus access to gyms and more
  • Life cover of up to four times your salary
