Antenna & RF Engineer Role Description Summary

We are actively seeking an Antenna and RF Engineer to support UK programmes for systems engineering activities. This role will ensure that engineering deliverables are executed and understood to meet contractual requirements, industry standards, and company expectations. The position involves working cross-functionally with multi‑functional teams to design, procure, install, test, commission and maintain a diverse set of satcom terminals at critical sites across UK projects.

• Lead the Antenna and RF engineering outputs for UK programmes, interfacing with matrixed organisations to provide required domain experience.
• Manage system engineering deliverables for all antenna and RF projects: capture and analyze requirements, review standards and compliance, produce design documentation.
• Analyze requirements and designs to develop successful action plans.
• Manage technical responses and compliance for designs, including internal commercial approvals.
• Liaise between vendor management teams and vendors to manage technical compliance and meet customer deliverables.
• Collaborate with UK programme internal and external teams to achieve performance and conformance within the programme area.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical or related field.
• 7 years of experience in engineering, defence, and SATCOM.
• Knowledge of ground station equipment including up‑and‑down converters, power amplifiers, receivers, antenna elements, low‑voltage power distribution, backup battery, generator systems and international electrical standards.
• In‑depth knowledge of Systems Engineering on large and/or complex engineering projects.
• Experience with defence contracts, governance and transition projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Service Delivery, Service Operations, Engineering and Operations teams.
• Valid UK Security Clearance required.

• Experience with ISO standards, DEFCONs, DEFSTANs and JSPs.
• Familiarity with requirement and document management tools such as DOORs and Azure Dev Ops.
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals.
• Technical knowledge of SATCOM systems and operations.
• A willingness to take ownership of a situation and lead commercial discussions with cross‑disciplinary teams managing multiple priorities.
