day in the life

As the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor you will be a key driver in fostering a zero‑incident safety culture through practical, people‑focused solutions. You will partner with colleagues to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulation while embedding EHS practices into daily operations and driving continuous improvement. You will help ensure employees receive first aid or medical treatment as appropriate and will report directly to the site Manager, EHS.

What

You Will Be Doing
  • Implement, review, and revise written safety programs and procedures
  • Perform relevant inspections and audits capture and complete or delegate necessary countermeasures
  • Document and maintain regulatory records including incident reports and OSHA Logs
  • Measure and track Safety KPIs
  • Respond to EHS related incidents and participate in incident investigation
  • Recommend countermeasures based on incident investigation and collaborate with operating departments to implement them
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers on safe work practices
  • Promote safety‑first mindset through ongoing education and engagement
  • Identify and manage correction of safety and environmental deficiencies
  • Maintain an accurate chemical and hazardous materials inventory
  • Perform risk assessments collaboratively on the plant floor to evaluate job/task hazards across departments, track and report risk levels, and prioritize mitigation efforts based on highest risk
  • Administer various safety programs (hearing testing, incident follow‑up)
  • Deliver continuous improvement – build capability, establish best practices, and use standardized work processes to improve safety performance
  • Enhance critical hazard program management, including hazardous energy control; fall protection; mobile equipment and pedestrian interactions; powered industrial trucks; work permitting
  • Adhere to Workplace Safety Policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards
  • Complete and follow EHS and Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s workplace safety, food safety and quality objectives
  • Promptly report and take appropriate action on any observed or potential workplace safety, food safety hazards, process deviations, or non‑conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s Workplace and Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role

Do you have what it takes? Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience in an EHS role
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently, with or without accommodation
  • Functional knowledge of manufacturing operations and process flow
  • Knowledge of safety standards, risk identification, and determining compliance
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a computer, MS software and EHS reporting systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Environment, Engineering, or professional EHS certifications (ASP, CSP, OHST, etc.)
  • Previous experience implementing safety standards
  • Experience leading lean manufacturing improvement initiatives
  • Willingness to attend specific training courses and educational opportunities as needed
