Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery / Postpartum – Night Shift
Shift: Nights – 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (Sunday through Saturday, 3 shifts/week)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor & Delivery/Postpartum team on the night shift. This role requires compassionate, highly skilled care for patients during labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and in the nursery.
Shift: Nights – 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Frequency: 3 shifts/week (Sunday–Saturday rotation)
No call required
No floating
Maximum RTO (Requested Time Off): 36 hours
Unit Scope: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum required;
Nursery preferred
Total Beds: 14
Labor: 1:1–2
Nursery: 1:6
Postpartum: 1:6
Mother-Baby (Couplets): 1:3
Scrub Colors: Any solid colors (OR scrubs provided when necessary)
Required QualificationsActive RN License (must be valid in the state of practice)
Certifications (must be AHA or ARC):
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience in L&D and Postpartum (Nursery experience preferred)

Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive care to laboring patients and newborns during delivery.
- Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rates during labor.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patient conditions promptly.
- Educate patients and families on labor processes and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in the delivery room.
- Contribute to achieving departmental targets and quality metrics.
- Document patient progress and outcomes accurately in medical records.
- Assist in the implementation of best practices for labor and delivery.
- Foster a supportive environment for patients and their families.
- Engage in performance reviews and set personal development goals.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
- Experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred.
- Ability to monitor and interpret fetal heart rates accurately.
- Willingness to set personal development goals and engage in reviews.
- Strong communication skills for patient and family education.
- Knowledge of safety and health regulations in healthcare.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Demonstrated ability to respond promptly to patient condition changes.
- Experience with electronic medical record documentation.
