RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work day shifts between 6-8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

• 8-hour shifts with variable start times

• 80% Pre/Post operative care and 20% PACU responsibilities

• Call requirement: 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM at least 1 shift per week

• Weekend call: 1 per 4 weeks (call is split between staff)

• No floating between units

• Required licenses and certifications: RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS

• Minimum 2+ years of experience required

• Scrubs requirement: any solid color

• EMR system:
Med Host and paper charting

• 23-bed unit with variable patient ratios

• Start IVs for Same Day Surgery patients

• Perform basic admission assessments for SDS patients

• Care for Type I/Type II diabetic patients and perform medication reconciliation

• Provide discharge teaching for endocrine patients

• Work in fast-paced Stage II environment

• Majority of patients are outpatient

• Must be greater than 50 miles from facility

• Provide post-anesthesia care utilizing nursing process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital policies

• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other personnel

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in patient care planning

The facility features a 23-bed PACU environment that focuses primarily on outpatient surgical procedures.
