Our luxury retail client is looking for 2 French linguists to support their team through April 2026, 40 hours/week. One candidate must work hybrid (2-3 days per week) in Corte Madera, CA, and the other must live in the PST time zone.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. The role is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications- Native French speaker; full professional proficiency in English.
- Minimum 3+ years of translation experience, preferably with a luxury, retail or globally recognized brand.
- Demonstrated ability to translate clear, persuasive, and engaging copy with impeccable grammar and style from English to French.
- Proficiency in CAT tools and familiarity with translation management systems (e.g. Phrase).
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to make decisions that support the business in the French market.
- Availability to field occasional requests outside of normal business hours.
- Review, proofread and edit translated content for accuracy, clarity and grammar to maintain a high level of quality in all French messaging.
- Translate brand copy from English to French as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the Brand Copy Team to align on messaging strategy and tone of voice for the French market.
- Maintain the company's brand voice and tone guidelines, ensuring consistency across all communications in French.
- Collaborate closely with the team of translators for other languages.
- Liaise with the brand's LSP to align on messaging for translated content.
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitors and target audience to stay informed and ensure messaging aligns with our target market's interests and needs in France.
- Help maintain the French Style Guide, ensuring it is aligned with Style Guides in other languages.
- Be open to feedback and willing to make revisions to your work to meet changing project requirements.
