Job Title
Operations Coordinator – Cortez Center Operations Coordinator at The Salvation Army Southern California
Job SummaryProvide administrative and operational support to the Service Center and Thrift Store, including seasonal assistance projects, fundraising efforts, volunteer coordination, database maintenance, social services delivery, and assistance to the Thrift Store Manager.
Responsibilities- Case Management – assess client needs, prepare case information sheets, obtain documentation, make referrals, update client forms, and enter data into Well Sky or other TSA databases.
- Administrative – manage walk‑in clients, answer phone calls, coordinate volunteers for events, assist with grant writing, handle vendor paperwork, submit payment requests, prepare weekly/monthly reports, maintain office supplies, and oversee shared space appearance.
- Thrift Store – oversee homeless clothing program, assist store manager with cleanliness and organization, recruit/train volunteers, manage store keys, stock supplies, handle cash management, and transport donations/purchases.
- Associate’s degree or at least two years of related experience in a human services program.
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, writing, leadership, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, agencies, and the public.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Minimum age 21 and valid in‑state driver’s license required.
- Annual MVR processing and biennial background check required.
- Ability to maneuver, remain stationary, grasp, push, pull, reach overhead, operate telephone, lift 25 pounds.
- Access and produce information from the computer, understand written information.
- Qualified individuals may perform essential duties with or without accommodation; modifications may be requested.
- Standard part‑time benefits: sick leave (1 day/month, 12 days/year), vacation (10 days/year), pension plan after one year with at least 21 hours/week.
- Full‑time benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, sick leave, vacation, floating day off, pension plan, voluntary 403(b) plan.
Part time – non‑exempt, 25 hours/week.
Salary$20/hour.
