Purpose: To support student learning by assisting licensed staff in curriculum and program implementation.
Hours: 16 hours per week
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Contract Status: Limited Term
FLSA Status: Non‑exempt – Classified
Start Date: 2025/2026 School Year
Calendar: 181 Work Days
Rate: $20.43 per hour with benefits
Retirement Contribution: The Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS & OPSRP). Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee’s salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part‑time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exercise independent judgment in the management of classroom/program operations consistent with administrative direction, district policies and procedures, and instructional program goals.
- Effectively work with and respond to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
- Assist in the instruction of students in small group and one‑on‑one settings; adjust lesson plans or teaching strategies during instructional activities as necessary to achieve learning goals under the supervision of licensed staff.
- Provide supplemental practice in various learning experiences, including drills and activities designed to reinforce or modify skills.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials from licensed staff, copying materials, developing visual aides and charts, and collecting and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Facilitate students’ development of positive interpersonal relationships with peers and adults; promote safety by helping them develop self‑confidence.
- Train and assist students in behavior management and social skills; respond to discipline problems; act as a role model.
- Maintain high standards and expectations for students, encouraging independent learning and personal growth.
- Maintain, store, and retrieve information timely, accurately, and efficiently using standard office systems, equipment, and software.
- Supervise a variety of student activities throughout the building, sometimes outside the classroom and outside the traditional instructional day, as assigned to support the district/building’s discipline and instructional program (homework club, tutoring, etc.).
- Assist licensed staff in training volunteers and professionals to work with students in a manner supporting the district educational plan.
- Within specialized areas of assignment, exercise independent judgment to resolve issues and respond to requests for assistance.
- Perform minor medical and health procedures as requested, meeting state and district guidelines.
- Provide other related services as assigned.
