Minimum Hourly Rate: $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro)
Maximum Hourly Rate: $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro)
Position SummaryThis recruitment will fill two part-time (maximum 24 hours per week) student support services for the Diversity & Cultural Engagement at Oregon State University.
The Community Relations Representative (CRR) engages in community building, education, and support on behalf of the Cultural Resource Centers (CRCs) and/or their initiatives and programs. Students focus on academic success, social justice, leadership, identity development, community & belonging, and well-being.

- Assist in daily operations of the Cultural Resource Centers and/or initiatives (e.g., give tours, staff front desk, maintain attendance records, keep spaces clean, manage library materials).
- Engage in mutual learning on identity development and social justice (e.g., stay current on community issues, interrupt and educate about bias and microaggressions, raise awareness for underserved parts).
- Plan and lead community-specific and collaborative events with support from DCE Center Directors and CRC student staff (e.g., history and heritage month celebrations, welcome week programs, Transgender Awareness Week, Sexual Assault Awareness Month programming).
- Assist in community-specific or collaborative development of resources, projects, and initiatives (e.g., communication projects such as publications or videos, resource development, distributing promotional materials, educational campaigns).
- Support individuals’ connections to community (e.g., outreach to students, provide supportive listening, assist guests in finding relevant resources).
- Contribute to a culture of respect and accountability (e.g., model self-reflection, learning, personal and professional growth).
- Promote involvement opportunities connected with DCE (e.g., promoting hiring and volunteer opportunities, involvement opportunities in affiliated student organizations).
- Engage with peers and connect them to relevant campus and community resources to support their student experience (e.g., Academic Success Center, Valley Library tutoring services, student clubs & organizations).
- Act as a representative of the CRC (e.g., building relationships with student & community organizations, serving on planning committees for campus events).
Required Qualifications
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard:
- High School student:
Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home‑schooling program. - Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term.
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term.
