Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill four (4) part‑time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Onboarding Student Coordinator for the Office of New Student Onboarding (NSO) at Oregon State University (OSU). The Onboarding Student Coordinator (OSC) position is a senior student leadership position in the Office of New Student Onboarding (NSO). NSO collaborates with campus partners across the university to plan and implement all onboarding aspects including but not limited to Prepare virtual learning opportunities, Launch orientation programs, Connect (welcome week) events, large first‑year Engage programs, and programming for parents and families.

The role occurs year‑round to support students and their families to ensure a smooth and successful transition to OSU . Shifts during the academic year will focus on onboarding planning, administrative and office tasks, program logistics, improvements, and supervisor and staff meetings. Program support throughout the year (and heavily during the summer) will focus on the implementation and support of all onboarding and first‑year initiatives and programs, and the supervision of orientation leaders (OLs).

This role experiences seasonal fluctuations of support needs and rapid change. Successful candidates in this role will need to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt. As the highest level of student leadership within New Student Onboarding, this role sets the tone for professionalism, customer service, excellence, and integrity across the team. Students in this position serve as official representatives of Oregon State University and are expected to demonstrate polished communication, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to supporting guests and staff.

The Onboarding Student Coordinator position is a part time, year‑long position with responsibilities starting in February 2026. Hired staff are required to attend all dates outlined in their employment agreement. Failure to meet these obligations may result in job action.
