Position

Associate Patient Care Coordinator provides patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques and conforms to recognized standards.

Location

Location (Full-Time Onsite): 3680 NW Samaritan Drive, Third Floor, Corvallis, OR 97330

May be required to travel to one or multiple locations for coverage as needed

Schedule

This is a 40-hour week, 8-hour shift schedule, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:15 am to 5:30 pm PST. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Participate in and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. Read, be familiar with, and embrace the principles contained within.
  • Greet patients for providers, answer the telephone, route calls/tasks, book appointments, verify patient insurance coverage, act as cashier for payments, and prepare for appointments.
  • Greet and check patients in, verify current demographics and insurance coverage. Notify back-office staff of patient arrival in a timely manner.
  • Working knowledge of the referral process.
  • Use the correct search criteria to eliminate the creation of duplicate documentation and enter in the EHR.
  • Contact the assistant or provider promptly when an acutely ill patient either telephones or approaches the reception desk with or without an appointment.
  • Direct patient flow and prepare patients for exams.
  • Proactively monitor and manage provider schedules for accuracy.
  • Actively participate in the cleaning of shared work areas.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees.
  • May work at multiple sites as determined by department necessity.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-tasking through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical office performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience working with scheduling programs
  • Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff and patients
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines

Pay and Compliance

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
